Went today, hit a few shops with my daughter, meeting old friends making new. Racked up books for her both free and buying stuff for her.
I lean towards supporting independents so I picked up a lot great new stuff. I really do it more for my daughter as i want her to enjoy reading
comics as i did as a child. I must say a lot of the shops that I went to really did a good job promoting and making it feel like a big event. Felt like Christmas for comics.....

Last year I went down to see Rick @ NewForce but being unemployed right now I'm afraid that won't happen this time. That's too bad because I had fun hanging with Rick all day in his store (especially when his action figures went on sale)

Can you get me some saline solution and 1,000 thread count pillow cases while you're there?

it came to me in a peyote fueled stroll. The same journey where I discovered my Spirit Animal is Dino-Mutt.

The primary Stadium comics store is actually quite small, but because they are in a mall, they turn it into a mini artist alley comic con in the section of the mall just outside the store. the line stretches through the mall and along the artists' tables, and there are cosplayers on hand as well. Brilliant stuff. Every retailer needs to take a page from Stadium's playbook on FCBD.
Stadium Comics is your destination for comic book pre-orders, collector's packs, and exciting exclusive variants. Shipping to the US, Canada, and more!

Many stores in the Greater Toronto Area really go all out.

A week later it's the Toronto Comics Arts Festival... a free event put on by the Toronto Public Library, with an international roster of alt-comics talent and publishers.
TCAF The Toronto Comic Arts Festival is an internationally acclaimed comic book festival held annually in Toronto, Ontario. TCAF is a free-admission event.

IF I had a local store, I'd snag Atomic Robo, Black Sky, and Buck Rogers.

The Mighty Moprin Power Rangers comic looks morphinominal.

It's almost Free Comic Book Day!

I just checked out the comics for this year, and I have to say, I'm not impressed. In fact the only 2 that look good to me, are Archie and Buck Rogers. Hardly any good superheroes. What do you guys think?
