I like Ben so It's cool..I just hate it when they use the same guy for 2 comic characters
Berry was good as Storm sucked as Catwoman
Torch and captain America were both good though

I don't have a problem with him playing Batman, certainly willing to let him give it a shot. I originally didn't think Keaton was going to make a good Batman and he did a great job (my favorite of the movie Batman's)...haven't really cared at all for Bale as Batman so I am actually glad to see someone else in the role....we'll see how it goes!Leave a comment:

Don, it's like I said before; every action film up to that point starred a lantern-jawed lead and shot in the streets of Los Angeles.
No one saw Burton's gothic Gotham coming because it didn't fit the summer model. So the pre-visual was a juiced-up Keaton in a skintight blue/grey Reeves-Superman suit running around L.A. Until the first trailer hit, then it was jaws on the ground.
It took Raimi, (and Singer to be fair), to flip the deck again and go back to more realistic locations. It then took Nolan to say, "screw it, let's go to the streets".
While it took Nolan's involvement to make MOS visually realistic, Snyder with has been leading us back towards more set designs. Now, if Nolan is stepping out, then look towards Watchmen and you can see Snyder's preferred method, which is creating a hyper-real greenscreen world. That means we're left relying on Affleck's Argo/Town to maintain anything Nolan did. But after Daredevil, why would he think that's going to work?
It's why I tend to believe they're going to do something very jarring with Batman and Superman/Batman is going to look and feel more like Arkham City or Injustice than anything else. I mean, you can see how easy it would be for Snyder to translate those game worlds into a physical set piece.Leave a comment:

The stories only get worse.
This is exactly what I feared once Tull and Robinov were gone and Nolan wasn't willing to step into the WB vacuum without them.
A source fills us in that Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder's Batman vs. Superman and will go up against Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck.
In essence, Affleck is going to be the one to take over the DCU filmverse.
This is exactly what happened at Marvel. Favreau got pushed aside once Arad stepped down and Feige took over. Whedon wormed his way from the comics into a few ghost writes, then saw the opening and knocked Favreau out of directing Avengers during IM2 production. Favreau was an exec producer, but that's pretty much over.
Same thing happening to Nolan. He set the pins up, but Affleck has wedged his way in to deliver the strike. It looks like he made a deal where if they slowly give him control, he'll deliver his buddies. Kevin Smith must be giddy.
Lord only knows who ends up as Wonder Woman. I don't think it will be Garner, but if he can actually deliver Damon as Aquaman, all bets are off.Leave a comment:

Hmmmm....
Everybody whined about the Mr Mom Batman.... and I had to hear how it was the "superawesomeest thing EVER!" for years. I wonder if that's how this is gonna play out.
'Course, the same folks who irritated me back in '89 NOW whine about the Mr Mom Batman, so there ya go.

As for me, Batman is now officially dead on the big screen...for when I see him...it will not be Batman...it will be Ben Affleck wearing a Batman costume, big difference.
I'm sorry, horrendous decision by Warner Brothers.Leave a comment:

Point taken, and good post, thanks for taking the time, makes sense now.Not true. I'm very particular about what I like yes and quite often I feel these projects fall short.
But you know, I've reached the point in my comic book life where I just don't care anymore.
That's not to say I'm still not interested in my four color heroes but I've definitely lost a lot of passion
and fervor when it comes to these things. I feel burned out.
Super-heroes and DC in general, Batman and Superman in particular have been "my thing" for about 40 years
now but I think I've lost the fire so to speak. The characters in any of their current incarnations
(comics, TV, movies, toys) haven't represented my interpretations of them in quite some time.
In print it was the New 52 that was the straw that broke this camel's back. In film it's been seeing
WB/DC lose ground to Marvel again and again, under utilizing characters that have been marquee
household names for 75 years. And yet Rocket Racoon will be on the big silver screen before
Wonder Woman or Aquaman or the Flash or the freakin' Martian Manhunter for crissakes.
The most fun I've had with DC heroes in a long time now was last night. My daughter and I
cracked open the Lego Batman 2 wii game we've had since XMas. It may seem simple and basic
but those are the closet I've felt to Superman, Batman, Robin, et al in a long time.
That's why I just don't care too much about Affleck's casting. Personally I think he'll do
ok. And if he doesn't, I'm not so sure that's "my" Batman anyway. And at this point I'm really not
sure I'll ever see him again. That ship may have sailed...Leave a comment:

That is hilarious!!!
