If you are truly jonesing for a new Superman story with a bronze-age feel, check Adventures of Superman No. 3 (print version) or Adventures of Superman digital version nos. 7,8,9. It's clearly dealing with a pre-byrne reboot Superman with universe-spanning powers.
I don't know if I would call it an instant classic, but if you consider DC's served up almost two years of the DCNew52 Supes, which was preceded for a year-long walk with Superman, which was preceded by a year of Superman on New Krypton, it's as good a Superman comic as I've read in four years.
It's a complete story, too, if you buy it in print.
The only relatively recent Superman story I'd rank equal or better was the johns/Frank Brainac story, mainly because of Frank's art.
There's a bit of a Superman renaissance going on in some of the comics. Batman/Superman had a very promising start to me, and while not as good of a first issue Superman Unchained wasn't bad.
