If you need a Superman fix, I'd suggest DC Presents Superman Adventures. It's a collection of stories from the series based on the Superman animated series, written by Mark Millar.
The stories may not be as complex as some latter-day material, but it's classic Superman adventures with Superman being Superman, something it seems we haven't had much of during the last decade or even two.
If you missed it the first time around like I did, give it a look. It might just hit the spot.
