Beast made the "revelation" to his ex-girlfriend Trish Tilby... who was basically a total bee-iotch to him, and in that particular moment was again trying to manipulate him. He was totally messing with her. It would seem obvious in larger context of their relationship, but Morrison and co did directly address it as Beast pranking (as he typically has done... particularly as an Avenger).
^ Yeah that's right. He was having all kinds of fun laughing at tabloids for calling him gay.
Green Arrow: Long Bow Hunters reminds me of when I was a kid and just getting in to comics. My late Uncle was really into comics and whenever I went over to his house, he'd let me read whatever he had. He mostly read stuff like Conan and Arak but he liked Green Arrow and Ghost Rider a lot too. Since I was more into superheroes I'd look through his GA books. When I read that one (I was maybe...11 or 12?) I remember thinking as I read it that I was NOT old enough to be reading this story. Which I think made me love it even more lol.
That Action Comics 544 is one of my all time favorites. It has a tribute to the superman creators in it.
Comics use to be so good...its sad
all those posted on this page are good in one way or another. seems like yesterday they were on the comic rack
>Lots of great stuff in Mister X - but looking back it's a kind of an 80s mish-mash of New Wave imagery and "Blade Runner" futurism that never really made much sense
Hee heee.... another good book. In the first compilation there's an explanation that they never quite found anyone to do the art who could carry the ideas of the book, and I think that was one of the problems holding it back. The city SHOULD have been weird.... almost a character unto itself... but nobody ever quite glommed onto the proper vibe.
I remember being very excited when Secret Wars was released, and have a pretty long run of Amazing Spider Man beginning from that issue where he first wears the black costume.
Byrne's Superman is bringing back a lot of memories too. I know I have a stack hemetically sealed in box somewhere.
That first image, is that Wonder Man from West Coast Avengers, or did I make that up?
he amazes me to. i use to know much more but i have really been out of it for years. i really only read pre crisis now (except for Byrne and a few others)
Didnt know Vigil did some Image. I wonder if i could still hunt that down. Faust was always cool to me. Vigil is one of the best artist that not many know about.
