I'm still on board with Bendis, although to be honest, the Big Company Books aren't at the top of my list when it comes to the titles he writes. With the exception of Ultimate Spiderman which continues to feel fresh and he's got a real voice for Peter and the other teen characters.

With Dark Avengers coming to an end, I'd just prefer Bendis to continuing pushing the envelope with his more fringe titles. I think it would be great for him to focus on Powers or go back to doing more crime/noir stuff like Goldfish and Jinx. Or a return to Alias centred on Cage and Jessica Jones. Alternatively, some kind of relaunch of the Super Villain Teamup concept given how much I enjoyed Dark Avengers and characters like The Hood.

Aaaaaaaand to hear from the other side of the aisle.

I love JRjr's art; it's distinctive and stylized and occasionally has wonky anatomy that I can easily disregard because I like how he lays everything out. However, I'm not a fan of Klaus Jansen's inking - he makes anybody's stuff look worse, and I almost always notice his inks, whereas most inkers are invisible to me. Don't really like the colors on this cover shot either. Iron Man looks off.

As far as the member choices, I don't have too large an opinion. I'm not a longtime reader of Avengers, but as far as taking all of the Marvel icons and putting them on what is supposed to be the company's flagship team, I don't see what the problem is with that Idea. I'm surprised the Hulk hasn't been used, especially considering he was a founding member.

Bendis has managed to make somewhat lame and under-utilized characters relevant and readable. Jessica Drew Spider-Woman and Luke Cage were pretty much Z-listers until he showed interest, and now along with Ms. Marvel and Iron Fist, they're on their way to being flagship characters and possibly, just maybe, inching towards Icon status.

There have already been about a zillion Avengers - was I the only one who saw the two page spread in Avengers:Disasembled that featured every single Avenger ever? There were a lot of them. Why shouldn't Spider-man and Wolvie get to play? It seems like a no-brainer to put two of the most recognized Marvel Characters on the team. Isn't that where we should want the Big Guns?

And I'm a Bendis fan. He wins for character and dialog, and his story ideas keep coming, which impresses me greatly. I don't think he can write short, densely plotted stuff to save his life, but in trade his stuff reads great. I switched to trade almost exclusively and only follow about five titles monthly now. His Avengers stuff is among them, despite how I think it reads better collected. That's how much I like his work.

I'm sure this book is no exception, and look forward to picking it up.

Yes I have to agree...Dark Avengers has been exceptionally good...better than I expected when I originally saw the premise. But Bendis on the regular Avengers has sucked since the Secret Invasion issues where there was much aso about nothing going on IMO.

The Dark Avengers story's were very good imo.
Outside of that, I haven't really liked Benis direction much myself.

OK, at this point it's becoming like "Who ISN'T an Avenger?"......Sheesh, guys like Wolverine and The Thing just don't make sense to me when they're icons with OTHER teams. Obviously Bendis just wants to write these guys and Marvel is willing to appease him...I really don't understand the clout he has over at Marvel. Don't get me wrong, he can be a good writer but I think he's been past his prime on the Avengers franchise for quite a while. This relaunch was the chance to break away from that and yet Marvel choose to go with the dude again AND launch 5 Avengers related titles. Like JLA, there should only be ONE book devoted to the team...Nevermind all of this Secret Mighty New stuff.

pretty sure that the Thing and Spider-Woman are part of the team, too. Why do they need Ben Grimm?? He's already got a day job.

isn't there a Wolverine Corps so there can be a short angry dude on every Marvel team?

Where does Wolverine find the time to be an X-Men, do solo stuff, X-Force (I think he's still doing that), and be an Avenger? He just doesn't belong on that team.
I like Spider-man better on his own or doing team ups from time to time.
