So;
I think "The Physics of Superheroes" (by James Kakalios) has been mentioned before. If you haven't read it you should. It's funny and informative. (Although the author has a weird Ant-Man fixation.)
A friend sent me "Does This Cape Make Me Look Fat?" (by Chelsea Cain and Marc Mohan) which is a sort of superhero self help book. Also funny and informative. (How to tell if you're under mind control: the little voice in your head sounds different/ you're experiencing blackouts/ you've recently been kidnapped by a sorcerer/magus/demon lord/egg-inplanting alien queen/ you've gone on a rampage at the White House/ you just don't feel like yourself/ your eyeballs are all swirly)
