It's a fun episode, but I've always been puzzled by the lack of naming George Reeves within the episode. The serials inferred Superman played himself, while Kirk Alyn played Clark, but that he never been applied to The Adventures of Superman. Ricky acts like Superman is a fellow Hollywood type, but never calls him by name. I have read that George Reeves wasn't happy about this and it contributed to his dissatisfaction with the typecasting that came with playing Superman. -
My reasoning was always that since Lucy was watched by the whole family, telling people it was George Reaves would erode the fantasy for the fans of Superman.Comment
