Saw it today. I thought it was great and a lot of fun. I love Corenswet's Superman -- all of the characters, really, from Lois, to Jimmy, to Luthor, etc. I could have done without the mild cursing though.

I have started and restarted writing my thoughts about this movie, but really, all I will say for now is that I excitedly look forward to the next installment of the DC Studios Universe, and I don't think I ever said that before, even about the MCU. It makes me want to pick up a current DC Comic's book to see what's going on in my favorite comic book universe.

Really glad to read all these positive reviews above!

I haven't seen it yet. But I am interested, and a lot of positive word of mouth from actual fans of the super hero/comic book genres is tilting me toward seeing it in the cinema, instead of waiting for it to be available to stream in a few months. My wife has no interest in any of this, but she is a huge 'dog person.' So if the movie is a popular hit, Krypto may be the key to me getting to watch this film at our local cinema while sipping a couple of gin and tonics...

I thought it was fantastic and I really appreciated Superman's journey and character development. This was the Superman I've always wanted.

If this is supposed to be the start of a "new" new DC Cinematic Universe then count me out. Super underwhelming, and hyperactively violent. No Character Depth, and it is Not appropriate for children, and why was it filmed on an iphone taped to a squirrel? Mr Gunn you FAILED the assignment.

Even though I won't see this soon, I do NOT GET WHY some sites will POST the WHOLE Bloody movie in detail

    for example

While most of Superman focuses on the Man of Steel and his journey, there's still time to tease the future of the DCU.

It's bloody stoopid and I don't know why the studios won't do anything about it.

BF and I just got back from watching Superman and it was a great comic book movie. Before we went and saw the movie we list d to the prequel book Superman Welcome to Metropolis.

This audiobook sets up this universe and gets you ready for the movie.

The movie does introduce you to world of James Gunn's DC Universe with the "Justice Gang" showing up and Rick Flag Sr from Creature Commandoes. This was a fun filled movie.

Now yes it does have a story similar to what is going on in the World right now but changing it just enough so it doesn't take you out of the comic book world.

There is a mid- credit scene that was shown during the puppy bowl and an after credit scene that deals with the aftermath in a funny way.

Now that we are home we discovered on TCM they are showing the 1978 Superman movie so this will make a great comparison.

I appreciate you putting my name and Mark Waid's in the same sentence Steve, but I fear for your mental health. You'd better go lay down. ;-)

    91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

And sadly it's been politicized, which frankly I hope works in its favor.

Saw it and no spoilers of course, I loved it. I think this may be the most unabashedly comic book-y film made to date, and I mean that as a sincere compliment. Wonderful synthesis of nearly every comic and media iteration of Superman, but blended in a new and exciting way. My 23 year-old son loved it too, and we had a blast. We wanted more as we walked out, and I want to see it again this weekend. There's a few minor niggles I wasn't 100% happy with, but they are very, VERY minor. A homerun for sure. Best Superman film since Superman II, in my opinion.
