Yep,you're right it's a classic and of course,I've got it...
I have 6 comics coming up next week with number 176,one that I was missing
Now that I only have 14 comics to go,I might come up with doubles,I'll be
interested to trade them for numbers I still don't have.

I'm not familiar with Byrne work...however I agree about the destruction the Hulk can cause...I mean he's driven by RAGE...like a very big polar bear or tiger loose...just imagine being in the path of such a creature;to me HE IS the most powerful of the Marvel universe.(To me I insist)I might go further than number 200 after reading all the comments here...

Any love for Byrne's truncated run?

I have to admit that it was kind of mindblowing for me to see how much destruction The Hulk could actually cause. I don't think anyone had ever depicted the Hulk's rampage as realistically as that before.

I think The Ultimates really drew on this for inspiration.

It would have been interesting to see how Byrne himself was going to play out the separated Banner leading the Hulkbusters. Too bad he wasn't able to finish that storyline.

Bruce Jones' run on The Hulk had a wonderful atmosphere of paranoia and an overdrawn conspiracy storyline that ran out of steam really really quickly.

But they had some really fun covers...

    My personal fave...

    OK,thanks(merci bien)!
I have another Hulk lot I'm bidding on and hope to win...
Seems that above 200,the comics are cheaper, maybe because they sold more
and are more recent than the previous obviously.

But sometimes I come accross a lot with some numbers I don't have along some I own and end up with doubles,if this happens I'll let you know...I'm missing these right now:
176-178-179-182-186-187-190 to 194-196-197-199-200 and I think I have the annuals
    1 to 10 if I recall,got to check to be sure...as I said,I just bought 173-174-177-184 in one shot,I like it,it's the "shipping" cost that's expansive when you're in Canada(Quebec)

Yeah that famous 181...I bought a reprint ;but also 182&183 goes higher than the others(all that because of wolverine!)havingan original isn't a big thing for me,a reprint does the job sometimes for me,all I want is to be able to read the comic book.
I don't collect those for money but for my own pleasure, that's all...I don't intend to sell my collection one day.One of my very first number was the one where the Hulk comes face to face with the FF

The Incredible Hulk is the best comic book ever!

I have every issue from #102 to the present. I'm only missing the original six issues and four or five Tales to Astonish. I don't have many of his appearances in other books though. I should work on getting those.

This is the first issue I remember getting as a kid --

My dad used to buy different comics and then give to me and my brother after he read them.

The most I ever paid for an issue of the Hulk is $40 for #181. That was about 15/20 years ago (it's in fine condition).

As long as you got 181, the rest is easy...

I need about 15 more issues to complete my run from 1-6, Tales to Astonish, & 102-426...it's been a long time though since I bought or even looked for any issues...kinda waitin' for my son to get into that Phase of Comic Reading (Mature).

I'm old school though---Love Peter David as the Bard, but there is just something about the run from 102-200 that has that whole Frankenstein/Jeckyl & Hyde vibe that I dig so much about the character.

His anger wasn't sooo over-the-top the way it is now.

Anyway...Here are 2 Classic Covers from that Period that always resonnated with me:

...and the single story that gets me during that period is:
