You pretty much summed up my take on it as well, Lou. There have been very few Superhero movies in the last 10 years that I haven't enjoyed. Yeah, I didn't like the Nick Nolte father thing in the first Hulk, but I enjoy the movie. I thought both FF movies were excellent. Daredevil I wasn't thrilled about, but that was more about the acting and it being a bit boring. The Punisher film was kind of rough as well, but all that said, I still enjoy watching them.
It's easy to get wrapped up in accuracy if you've read he comics, but there have been so many tellings and re-tellings of characters and their origins that there is a lot of room for creative interpretation. I try to go into these films just hoping they can capture the feel of the universe the characters were written in. It's not easy living up to decades of previous comic book history, and capture that character in 2 hours. -

I'd really like to see this set in the late 50s where Hal's occupation as a test pilot would work better. It'd be nice if they used New Frontier as the guidebook for the movie.Leave a comment:

My guess is they won't have Space Knights in Spandex(Knights is what they really are...or Cops). I'm think GL's Suit will look similar to His Paralax Costume...more Armor-like?Leave a comment:

Funny thing about superhero movies is in theory you'd think it would be so cool to see a comic book transformed into a live-action movie but sometimes the costumes just don't look right. Too bright, very skintight & campy almost. I'm guessing that's why most movies change the classic costumes to something that has the feel of the comic book costume yet is more contemporary. The X-Men comes to mind. Of course if the costume is iconic and can't be modified, they will usually just darken up or tone down the colors.
I'm wondering how they will approach this for GL. Will they redesign the GL uniform and make him more Guy Gardner-ish or stick with the skintight look? You know this movie will be CGI-laden so I also hope they don't go too crazy with the CGI stuff. Sometimes that can be overdone.

The Script they have now is based on Hal Jordan!! YaHOO!!!!!I think if they use the whole Green Lantern Corps...then it could be a really EPIC Space adventure(ala Star Wars). Here's hoping they GET IT RIGHT!!!

Dc has gotten the short end of the stick lately when it comes to big screen movies and in my opinion they have way better characters than marvel.
That said I hope they stick with the classic icon GL, Hal Jordan.
Although would be neat to see golden age GL too.
JSA movie next???

Although I used to love when an announcement for a new Superhero was made: I cringe a bit now. I'm sure it will be the same as the rest, with rare exception. The film will come out and all people will do is ***** and moan about it. Like all the whining about Spidey 3 and the Fantastic Four films...all of which were great. I really don't know what people expect out of a comic movie anymore. Of course I'll be first in line for a Green Lantern film but as soon as the closing credits roll, I will block my ears to avoid hearing the usual whining that surrounds these great films. In an age where movies either stink or are remakes, I for one applaud these Superhero movies and the young, talented directors who helm them. I haven't seen one yet that I didn't love...even the older films like Supergirl and Daredevil.Leave a comment:

Hopefully they will focus on the GL corps not just one lantern. there are so many members it can be a really good space epic.Leave a comment:

We need a good space opera, and GL can give us that, while keeping the down-to-earth element that will make it go over better with audiences. A good GL movie will be FANTASTIC, much like Iron Man.
This is great news!
