Hi All,
I don't know if this is the right thread to post it,since It's a custom USB drive and not a Mego figure.
Well,In the office a few days ago a co-employee was Showing off his newly bought Boba Fett (Mimobot) 2GB USB drive the whole day.
I'm just got ****ed over it and he wouldn't stop talking about how cool his new stuff was even though I told him it came out from quick some time and I had lost one like his and now it's a rare find that he was able get a brand new one.
So i thought of making one while i was on my way home from work and first I had to buy a clear A&B epoxy.
When i got home I quickly go through my bunch of stuff and open my Hot Toys Chubbies Boba Fett/Jango Fett figures.
These are like russian Dolls plastic figures.
1)Took out the Boba Fett figure, remove the outer casing of my 8GB usb drive and set it inside with the part to stick out.
2)Pour the A&B clear epoxy mixture, dries in 5 minutes, hardens it 3 hours and totally cures in 8 hrs.
2-A) I glued also the feet on lower half body part, this is detachable in the original state and attached to the body by a magnet inside the base.
3)While waiting for the epoxy to cure,I have a black pouch and use some elastic bands,plastic-spring locks and plastic end caps.
4)I have a collectible embroidered patch of SW-The Empire Strikes Back and stitched it on the black pouch.
5) Early morning,I painted the clear resin part, and viola! It's done.
Here are the Pics.
1)My custom Boba Fett USB Drive when free standing.
2)Inside View
3)My custom black pouch for it.
4)Hot Toys-SW chubbies Boba Fett,Jango Fett,young Boba-series 2.
5) My co-employees Mimobot Boba Fett USB drive
When I came to the office and showed my friend in the office my custom USB drive,he just say "Awesome!" The other guys USB drive is no match to yours. He was able to see it and just keep quiet.I guess that makes him shut up.
The only downside is when you plug it to your computer, instead of the face part of the helmet showing up,well the back side shows instead.
Nobody is perfect!!
