Alright so big update, I got the head printed.

It has some imperfections but I plan to remove them with some chemical solutions that I have. This one is about 2 inches..so unfortunately, too big for a mego.

Now, I do have my own 3D printer and I was able to print out my own pieces. However, my "good" 3D printer is not working ATM and I am waiting for the replacement parts to arrive. The other one prints out well just not as well..it creates an effect called layering.

See all those lines? that is the layering..see the other part that does not look as shinny? that is me after clearing the layering a bit with some sand paper.

However, after some cleaning up and some work, I was able to get something decent going.

Right now I am sending it over to my friend who has a "fancy" 3D printer to give me a good one similar to the quality of the first pic. In the meantime, I am working on a Chris Pratt head

I think you got your scales backwards

    8" mego = 1/9 scale
    9" famous cover figure = 1/8 scale
    12" hot toys = 1/6 scale

Well the best part of 3D printing is that once I have the design, I can print it out in any size I want. I just got done printing one tonight, I think I printed a little too big tho. I did a 2 inch head so it looks like it might fit better with a 1/9 as opposed to a 1/8. Came out really well detailed tho. Need to remove some imperfections. Hopefully by the weekend I can get a 1/8 and paint both and see the final product.

It should be interesting having a female head that can actually nod!

We will see how far I can push some of the ideas I have.
I have dealt with a lot of 3D printed joints, I have designed and printed other figures in the past..just not moving ones.
Some of the joints I have worked with looked similar to this:

Is that an innovative 2-part neck plug you're designing, capable of both body style applications?

If so, that would be a welcome addition to the limited options of female bods/heads.

They vary, but approximately 32mm from base of neck to top of head.
