I was at a local comic & toy show today (The Jim & Dan Show on the campus of Wright State University) and I found a (for me) interesting and somewhat unique item I had never seen before-a Super Friends Mobile-the main piece features Toth art of the Super Friends. There's also Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman & Robin pieces. Supes I think is Adams, B&R not sure, possibly Infantino, and the WW I had no idea.

I couldn't leave this one behind for $15, so I grabbed (as well as stacks of $1 and 50 cent comics, some vintage paperbacks, sci-fi mags, and a trio of Pulps. All in all a good day at the show.

But if anyone can confirm my guess on the Batman & Robin artist or provide any info on the Wonder Woman artist, it would be much appreciated.

I found a few existing 3d designs that had elements I liked, and I custom designed the rest. The chair and the console swivel. The lighting area is hollow and has a channel to run lighting. Mr. Data is on a Type S body with the new "space boot" legs, and is wearing the updated Mego TNG uniform.

This transporter console replaces the paper one I created (https://megomuseum.com/custom/timd/timd8.jpg) 15 years ago. Again, this is a custom design I remixed together from some publicly available models. Transporter Chief Kyle is a head from a SWAT figure (I think he makes a passable replacement), and a jumpsuit I got from Theresa back in the day.

While I still need to dial in my printer settings (these weren't even printed at the highest resolution), I'm really happy with how both came out. The photos show all the layer lines and imperfections, but on the toy shelf, I don't really notice them. The multi-color print produces an end result that is very toyetic and fun.

Not a new acquisition per se, but a rediscovery. Was going through an old chest recently where I had stored some toys in the past, and found this guy at the bottom. I've had him since 1976. My Dad was an expert dart shooter, and he won this for me at a concession on the Wildwood boardwalk. It was the year the Jeff Bridges, Jessica Lang Kong came out(my Kong's held up better than poor Jess). There was an animatronic Kong display on the boards that lit up. It was gigantic. They were really promoting that movie. Used Google Lens and found out Mego distributed it. Never knew that. Here he is, the eighth Wonder of the world!

There’s a ebay seller who sells custom made EMCE Diamond Select and Classic TV Toys size backer cards that fit clamshell cases for EMCE Diamond Select and Classic TV Toys 8 inch figures.

I thought this was pretty cool and since I had an extra couple of EMCE cases from Dr. Mego, and a bunch of Red Shirt figures, I picked it up.

Original mego Star Trek body and pants.

The repro red shirt, Galahad head and blue weapons belt from Dr. Mego. I wanted to try and match the picture on the card and decided on Galahad.

Thanks to museum member PNGwynn for the suggestion on Sir Galahad.

Werewolf? There! There Wolf. I first saw Frankenstein 's Bloody Terror and Assignment Terror as a ten year old, on a double feature one Saturday afternoon on Doctor Shock. With commercials, three hours of werewolves, vampires and other monsters. Loved it. I look at older customs to get ideas, and saw Waldy done a couple times. Monsters and Mego go together like Vodka and borscht, so I gave him a try. Done on a NuMego Screaming Werewolf body. I kept the pants but did a different shirt. Based the head on one of the mentioned customs. Painted the finger and toenails to give him claws. Made the chain. I suppose it would have been cheap enough at a craft store, but I hate spending money I don't absolutely have to, and I had a Lock n Lock filled with perfectly good paperclips. The other customs had shoes, but I thought a werewolf should have Wolf feet.

RIP Heath Smith (HighQuality)

Crushed to hear of the passing of my long-time friend and Museum Member Heath Smith. We bonded here but remained friend's when his interests shifted. Heath was passionate, kind and just always had the best intentions. When he built his amazing Telco collector group, it was done to remove barriers and share knowledge. Heath was a doer and a force for good. I wish I had spent more time with him, but I take some comfort in knowing that he knew I respected him a great deal.

Heath was a guy who gave back, and I loved him. Heaths are rare and I'm glad I knew him.

My Memorial Day Weekend reading material-just came out this past week...

I'm just a few stories in, but they've been great so far. I'm a huge fan of these DC Finest Collections. I've gotten every one so far, but I am a bit behind in my reading...

I'm curious when Rock becomes the actual name of the soldier, in the earliest stories it's just a nickname for hi, used by his troops.

Disney Doll Oddity

I'm not a Disney toy guy at all, so I'm hoping someone might know about this. A couple years ago, my mother wanted to get my niece a Bath Beauty Ariel doll. She bought it as a Target exclusive. When my niece saw it, she noticed that it had a BB Belle sealed in the Ariel packaging. I know that some factory mistakes go on to become collector's items. Can't find out anything on the internet, and even just got back from the local toy store, and they didn't know what to make of it or had ever heard of anything similar. Just a curiosity question, any Disney collectors out there have an opinion?
