Digging through the archives I forgot about but still wonder about the Pocket Superheroes creatures that tied into the Micronauts.

Somebody has the Ampzilla on eBay. Way outside my price range.

1987 Kenner Super Powers Rocket Man

This is the original silicone molds that were used to create the resin hard copies. The silicone mold itself being created from the wax sculpt.

All of the limbs and body pieces are here. Head, torso, arms, legs. The only piece is missing is the little thin piece that was the battery cover. But overall it is a full figure mold set.

Anybody have an extra $9000 on hand to purchase this?

"In 1936, archaeologist Indiana Jones is tasked by Army Intelligence to help locate a legendary ancient power, the Ark of Covenant, before the Nazis get it first."

I remember when my whole family went and to watch Raiders. I was 10 so watching this rollercoaster of a film was fun and scary.
.
Now way back when our theater was next to a pizza buffet, a VHS rental and a ice cream/arcade parlor. So on those rare occasions we went to the movies we would then go eat pizza and ice cream. A rare family outing growing up.

So what was your memory when this came out?

A little early yet, but with America 250 almost here, I thought I would post some pics. Just got a copy of the Marvel Bicentennial Calendar from fifty years ago, and I thought putting up the first five pages would be interesting. I think the median age for most of us then was the 7-8 range. I would always see the adds in back issues I bought in the mid eighties, and I thought the calendar looked so neat. Happy B-Day USA.

Didn't see a thread on this, so apologies if there is one, but if you haven't checked this out on Amazon, I recommend it.

Simple 8 episode series, loosely based on the comics and the character from the Animated Spider-Verse films.

You don't need to watch anything going into it, and it wraps up in 8 episodes, so if there's never another season, it has a satisfying ending... But it definitely could be more seasons.

It's a bit slower than most comic book movies/shows , with not a lot of action or even "spidermaning" but it has enough and leans into the noir detective tropes, but it definitely isn't some fantastic noir thing, it just has a lot of that flavor. Can be watched in color or black and white. Both look good. The color is a very fun muted tone 60s technicolor vibe so it works well with the period piece stuff too.

A lot of these shows are either too busy winking and nodding at you, or coming up with ways to redo characters to fit into their world in a way that's annoying... But here everything just works. It all feels like it should be and the other villains and such, while wildly different from their traditional counterparts, still hit the right notes and feel organic to this world that doesn't feel like a gimmick.

Nic Cage does a great job, even if he's a bit Nic Cage-y at times, it works well for the character. And while he's too old for the part if you're casting him purely on the comics, it actually really works here as he has that kinda rugged aged look of a noir lead like Bogart or something. And you can tell he's all in on this and not just doing it to be wacky or get a check.

Anyway, high recommendation.

Today my local theater shows on Sunday and Wednesday the Flashback Theater where it's like AMC where a guy (on screen) talks about the movie and then you get to watch it on a giant screen with surround sound and with other people.

Now today, BF & I took Nephew to watch Batman and discovered it's his first time watching it. The a Dad with three kids sat on our row and it was there first time. So here we sat with kids enjoying the movie for their first time. The giggles, laughter was something you just do not get watching at home.

Now because we got there before 3pm we were able to get the burger & fries for $8.50 each.

Now I just learned that the model Alicia in between Jack & Carl was based on another Batman villain Circe.

Circe Sionis also known as The Red Witch, is a former model and the ex-lover of Roman Sionis, who was disfigured by him and forced to wear a mask.

I was at a local comic & toy show today (The Jim & Dan Show on the campus of Wright State University) and I found a (for me) interesting and somewhat unique item I had never seen before-a Super Friends Mobile-the main piece features Toth art of the Super Friends. There's also Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman & Robin pieces. Supes I think is Adams, B&R not sure, possibly Infantino, and the WW I had no idea.

I couldn't leave this one behind for $15, so I grabbed (as well as stacks of $1 and 50 cent comics, some vintage paperbacks, sci-fi mags, and a trio of Pulps. All in all a good day at the show.

But if anyone can confirm my guess on the Batman & Robin artist or provide any info on the Wonder Woman artist, it would be much appreciated.

My Memorial Day Weekend reading material-just came out this past week...

I'm just a few stories in, but they've been great so far. I'm a huge fan of these DC Finest Collections. I've gotten every one so far, but I am a bit behind in my reading...

I'm curious when Rock becomes the actual name of the soldier, in the earliest stories it's just a nickname for hi, used by his troops.

Went and saw it on Thursday night. No spoilers here, but we liked it very much! Good story, lot of action, and some funny moments.
