It's nothing but a sea of black and gray and it is boring as heck. Where are my green Godzilla toys?

And, yes, before the "well actually' people show up I am aware the original Godzilla suits were a charcoal color. But he was green in the posters, Shogun Warriors Godzilla, GLJ Godzilla, Marvel comics, Hanna Barbera Cartoon, Knickerbocker plush Godzilla, Imperial Godzillas, VHS covers, NES game, SNES game, Gamecube game, PS2 Game, Wii game, Trendmasters Godzilla toys and so on. He has been depicted as green for decades. The vast majority of G-merch we grew up with was green. It's when fun and toyetic mattered more than gritty realism.

I was really excited when I spotted the Bandai Godzilla Rampage Godzilla 2003 on amazon. The pic of Godzilla on the box was green. The toy has to be green. When I got him no, he was gray. What the heck!? Don't use green Godzilla 2000 on the box when it's really gray SOS Godzilla.

Bandai is not even averse to color repaints in their Godzilla action figure lines. The Godzilburst line has a purple, pearl, white and red Godzillas but no green. Their transforming egg toys have pink ice cream and Hamburger colors but not a single green one. The Playmates movie line also has loads of Godzilla repaints and none of them are green.

I can't be the only one that misses green Godzilla toys.

Bonus unpopular opinions: I think Shin Godzilla is the worst Godzilla design of all time. Yes, even way worse than the Tristar one. Looks like something out of Resident Evil. Kiryu Mechagodzilla is my least favorite Mechagodzilla design. The head looks like a duck with teeth.

As some might have noticed, I recently bought a few FTC figures to add to my collection. All of them have been either in box or new on card but I really love to have them out of package/loose to play with. On one of my earlier post (back in May) I wrote that I love loose figures and like to buy in batches. Well, a fellow member wrote that he had a few loose figures and preferred selling them in batches.

What do you know !

I sent him a private message and after a few messages back and forth, he sent out a very nice batch of FTC loose figures to me. Have to really thank him for all the hassle he went thru. Plus, all his figures were in pristine condition and more.

Thank you Wise Guy !

Wanted to post these before but life gets in the way sometimes. Here is the first batch that he sent me.

This is another character I've had in the back of my mind for a long time, but I didn't know how I would do him. Now, I've recently been using John Stewart figures to do a Lantern Corps. That's left me with some extra heads. Then a couple weeks ago I glanced at the key rack in my kitchen and SHAZAM! Created by Dwayne McDuffie and MD Bright, both sadly no longer with us. Augustus Freeman is the alien champion of Dakota City. I first got interested in the character after watching the Static Shock cartoon in the early 2000s. I knew they were both Milestone characters, so I got the back issues. Since then I've loved Icon's appearances in the Young Justice cartoons. Now, all the characters are part of the main DCU, even better. Made with a John Stewart head, with black electrical tape for the mask. The eye holes are painted white. Body by classic Trek, with painted hands. Made the costume. The trim is black and yellow electrical tape. The cape is some green material I found. It looks brighter green in real life. The cape ring or harness? is an old key ring glued to the chest.

So, over the years I have acquired many WOZ figures to own, for parts or for customizing. This has left me with many spare outfits. So recently I came up with a way to savage some of these outfits. Removing the yellow yarn trim with a Seamripper (tool in the Middle) and removing the green patches with fingernail polish remover (they are glued on). Leaves you with a convincing Zombie outfit. Now I could have went with CTVT Panet of the Apes outfits but why buy when you can recycle???

Saw these go up for sale and jumped on them right away.

Seller advertised the complete set of 6 mint on card plus 5 additional figures open on card so I got the full set mint on card and have 5 loose figures all in one shoot. Nice batch of 11 figures.

This is really fun since love to have them on card and loose. The only figure missing loose is Western Frank.

These are sealed cards.

Mr Rock 2026 Joins the Green Lantern Corps

This is a junction of two obsessions. I posted Rock 2026 in January. He was my first custom. I used a CTVT green Vulcan head repainted for an updated look. About a month later I found a 3D head from Headzo that looked more like the original, and did a figure with that. Now the Lanterns series has rekindled my interest in the Green Lantern franchise. The John Stewart figures are pretty cheap online, so I use them for bodies. I made a loose Hal Jordan with one of them, then decided to make my own corps. There aren't really any 3D heads of alien Lanterns out there, so I decided to make my own. I figured Rock is an alien, so I would make him a Lantern. I always imagined that the difference in appearance between the original and his updated look is that he could regenerate like the Doctor. I wanted to leave his "eagle" logo on. It looked best to me in the middle of the Lantern symbol. In the comics, alot of Lanterns personalize their uniforms, so. From 70s space adventurer to regenerated member of the Lanterns. A natural evolution. I also included a pic of another custom Lantern. Made another Apeman head and put it on. Just pop on the heads and paint the hands.

Big Figs Green Arrow

After my love for 8 inch Mego super heroes, I think my next favorite thing right now is the Big Figs classic DC super heroes. Last year, I completed my custom Aquaman and this past weekend I finished up my Green Arrow. My goal is to always use as much original Jakks Big Fig parts as possible. This started out as a Link from Zelda with a Green Lantern head (repainted blonde.) His beard is a portion of Link’s sideburns and his hood is from a Big Figs Star Wars Mud Trooper. His quiver is from a 13” DC Direct figure; I found the arrows at Goodwill which I think are from some type of outdoor game. His bow is from a modern rack toy. I went with black pants as Link’s pants are kind of baggy and I thought the black would de-emphasize that (vs. using the lighter green.) Not perfect, but I like him. Still need to get him a box/package to fit in with the JLA. Next up (I hope) will be the Martian Manhunter (got some ideas for that.)
