For those here who own the SWAT pants that were available on CTVT website...how do they fit on a modern bandless Mego body?

They don't sell just the pants anymore, and can only be had if I buy the entire SWAT figure. I just want to know if its worth the $40 price tag...($30 for the figure + $10 shipping)...

If someone can put the pants on a modern Mego and take a pic for me that would be highly appreciated...

Swamp Thing 88- The Lost Jesus Story

This came out yesterday. The continuation of Rick Veitch's Swamp Thing time travel story. Swampy had been sent through time by the alien Dominators as part of the Invasion crossover. This part was pulled by DC because of the subject matter. Swampy ends up in the garden of Gethsemane at an important time. The story starts with the Wisemen (actually evil sorcerers) conjuring Belial to deal with Jesus. Apparently they only came to the nativity to scope out a potential rival. Belial attacks and impregnated the Golden Gladiator with an embryonic Etrigan. The Gladiator is the captain of the guard and client of Mary Magdeline. He promised to let Jesus go, but Etrigan assures this doesn't happen. Swampy spots Jesus in the garden, and recognizes him from Alec Holland's memories. The Roman's arrive for Jesus, and Swampy tries to help fight them off, but is sent back to the timestream(by Jesus I think.) Jesus exorcises Etrigan from the Gladiator. He's then taken to the crucifixion, and Belial kills the Wiseman because his son Etrigan is now bound to Earth. All in all, I found this to be a very good story. As an old Catholic boy, I didn't find anything offensive. No revisionism on Jesus. He's depicted as above reapproach and doing everything out of love and concern for people. The only difference is I think is it's left up to the reader to decide if the DC version of Jesus is actually Divine, or a Sorcerer Supreme type character. Also maybe if you revere the Wiseman as religious figures, you might not like that they're depicted as depraved villains with body parts hanging in their ritual chamber and pluck out their own eyes as a sacrifice to Belial. But Swamp Thing was always a horror comic. Gives an origin of sorts for Etrigan, and with the Wiseman, you might never look at a Christmas nativity scene the same way again.

In issue 57 (Feb 87) Swamp Thing was on Rann and appeared using red cactus. The animated series action figures released a cactus glow-in-the-dark version so using it for the base all I had to do was repaint it.

Over at 13th Dimension, we're in the middle of BATMAN PINUPALOOZA, celebrating the 60th anniversary of those iconic pin-ups featuring indelible images of Batman, Robin and their Rogues by Carmine Infantino and Murphy Anderson.

For my latest article, I spotlighted 13 pieces of merchandise inspired by or featuring that seminal artwork. There are hundreds, maybe thousands more examples, but these cover a nice range of products, including Mego!

Read a while ago that Mego was bringing out a Spectre figure. Still waiting, so I took matters into my own hands. Never really liked the lime green color in his costume. God's spirit of wrath should have darker green, so that's what I used. One could argue that a divine entity shouldn't need a costume, but DC' s version of the Almighty has a flair for the dramatic and wants His agents dressed for action. Made on a Trek body. In the comics his boots look like they're made of the same material as his costume, so I made cloth coverings to fit over the boots. Painted the hands green. Made the head, cape and costume. I did post Alan before, but it was when I first joined, and I was stomping through others old postings like a clod. Thought I would repost him here. He looks good in the picture with Spectre, and they are teammates. Made on a Trek body. Made the costume and cape. Painted the boots. Used masking tape carefully painted yellow to make the boot straps. Used a repainted Kirk head, with a lightly glued mask. Just painted a green line on the left hand for the ring. Not at the level where I can make a teensy weensy ring. Essentially a Trek Kirk remade as Alan Scott.

This one is too close to home. Len was my "sensei" He taught me the art of comic-book writing and also warned me that "comics would break your heart" and he was right.

As noted above in the link real briefly; Len Strazewski was best known for co-creating both Prime and Prototype as a founder of Malibu's Ultraverse, writing Starman, Flash, JSA, Phantom Lady, The Fly, and Action Comics Weekly for DC Comics, Speed Racer and Dai Kamikaze for Now Comics, Trollords for Tru Studios, Super-Teens for Archie, Street Fighters and Elven for Malibu. I am trying to find out more info on when his funeral services are going to happen and right now is not the time for me to go into my history with Len. This is all too much and I am starting to freak out. Sorry. I promise to tell more later. Sorry.

My first exposure to this guy was the Power Record. My folks got me my first record player one Christmas, and knowing what I liked, got me a bunch of Power Records to go with it. I was at that age where I was still too young to buy the comics when they first came out. Fast forward to the 80s, and I was in my mid teens with odd jobs, whose proceeds I spent at the comic shop. In the three for a dollar boxes was the entire series, only about ten years old at the time. Got a good Bronze Age collection pretty cheap that way. Now in my old age, I'm happy to attempt my own custom of the Monster. Built on a Trek body. I left the black pants, painted the boots brown, and the hands grey. Can't see it in the picture, but I painted the fingernails black. Made the shirt. Cut the bear skin vest from an old terrycloth bath towel(washed of course). Made the head myself.
