Happy Birthday to the Brew...the humble teabag is 100 years old.
The sachets were invented by tea merchant Thomas Sullivan
in New York in 1908.
He sent them to friends who dunked them in a cup of hot water
and the Teabag was born.
Today they are used for making 96 per cent of cuppas.
