“The Larry Sanders Show" and “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show” were both some of my favorite shows when they were on the air. A really smart and funny guy. He'll be missed.

Wow, that was a shocker! I was kind of wondering if we'd see him again in the Marvel movies.

        A real shame.

I loved everything that Shandling did.

Just watched his appearance on Seinfeld's coffee and cars show a couple months ago, which was titled, "It's Great that Garry Shandling is still alive".

Just shows that no matter what we do to remain healthy, we can go at any time. "May as well live for today, we might not have many more left."-Lt. Haven't been this shocked over a celebrity death since John Ritter in 2003, Steve Irwin in 2006, and Robin Williams in 2014.

wow, what a shocker. 66 is way to young. I too loved his show, and he even had the Turtles sing his theme song. RIP and thanks for the laughs

Real hard to take in. I truly grew up on this guy's comedy. My parents loved standup, so I was able to catch Carson on a semi-regular basis and that's where I knew him from. In the 80's, we saw him in Vegas at least once. I absorbed his shows and HBO specials.

Factoid. Garry coined "It's not TV, it's HBO". In his voice, it works two ways; a slight to network TV and an admission of lesser status to anyone working on HBO. That's sublime.

A while back, I thought he was sick and laying low. Then I saw him in IM2 and instantly thought he didn't look good. He refers to a battery of tests he was going through in the CinCars video, so for the stories to say it was sudden and shocking isn't right. Something was wrong and sadly, it was never caught. He needed one last run at the top. I kept waiting to read Netflix backed a truck of money up to his house.

I remember "It's Garry Shandling's Show" from back in the day. That's really sad. I wonder what the medical emergency was? Poor guy. We'll miss you, Garry.

Oh yeah, I remember when we got our first satellite dish when I was in high school, and I was able to watch Showtime for the first time ever (the channel wasn't legally available in Canada). "It's Garry Shandling's Show" became an instant favourite of mine.

Huge loss. Even though he stopped working for a while I always expected he'd have another great idea for a movie or show.

Oh wow - weird, that's exactly how I saw it! My dad had a gigantic dish on our roof.

I've never been able to hear the "hooray for Hollywood" song without singing "Hooray for Lilly Woo".
I didn't catch the Larry Sanders show much, but used to watch Garry Shandling show religiously as a 12 year old.

Such sad news to hear! Besides his endless gifts to television, he was often a enjoyable bit character in many of the Marvel films.
