The Riddler

The Mego Riddler has kind of a thuggy face. Don't you think? I think he's the toughest looking bad guy. Eyes set up in the brow, strong chin and a big thick lower lip. Sure, Conan puts on a show, but Riddler hangs out in Biker bars.

Don't you hate it when infidels say stuff like, "GEE, that doesn't look like Frank Gorshin..."? Without going into boring licensing minutiae, I have to say, "No disrespect to Frank, but who the hell wants a balding Super Villain?"

(No, Lex Luthor doesn't count. Because!)

If you remember the first Mego Riddler picture in the Museum, you'll notice how much better he looks with his belt. The belt is a purple version of Batman's utility belt and gathers in the costume which tends to bag out on Type One bodies.

Mego Type one and Type 2 Riddler. Please not that the type 1 Riddler came boxed with that funky pose.

This a 1st version Kresge cards for the Villians (Note square edge bubbles versus the rounded edge bubbles the later Kresge versions and regular carded superheroes came on). They also have extra text between their feet which the is not seen with the 2nd version Kresge villians. (lesson and pics courtesy Raj)

Red Card Mego Riddler shown above, red cards are believed to late releases and are quite desirable.

How's this for reporting? Here Tom shows the variations of the Riddlers belt.
