The Star Trek custom boxes are one of those things I first made years ago and have done lots of tweaks here and there since.
I wanted them to mirror the Planet Of The Apes boxes in motif and construction but at first I had thought the Ape boxes were Wizard Of Oz box size. When Scott A. let me borrow an actual Ape box (which got the ball rolling in doing Ape box repros) I learned the Ape box size was much smaller.
So I rebuilt all the Star Trek boxes in that size and did some other tweaks.
As I moved on to another printing system and had to tweak the coloring on those, I did other things such as redo the character name font to match the font used on the cards. I also never liked how Uhura's face looked and just didn't have the skill back then to make it look better, now I do, so I retouched Uhura's face to where it prints the way I want.
The Trek Alien box pretty much utilized the Alein card art so that was that. But the inserts were made up and seemed rather rough to me even though they were just meant to provide a presence of a generic alien landscape (with an alien outpost) behind the figure. So, I revamped the inserts to a big extent and they look nicer, even without a figure.
Due to a recent order, I did the whole kit and caboodle of Trek boxes and thought I'd better snap pictures since the others I had represented older versions of the boxes. So here they are(thanks to EMCE, I actually have some aliens to put in the boxes).
