I dig it ,.. as far as the Face goes, & He obvliously fits in well with the Sculpts of the 1st wave of figures. I saw them at my Comicbook Guy's shop Yesterday,.. & thought they were very neat,.. However passed on them over the Titans Wave & a Captain Marvel Jr.
I for one am looking forward to the late this yr, eairly next yr Release series of Mr. George Perez's DCD Characters Based on his comicbook Work. There's suppost to be a couple of neat figures there,.. Like 1st ever Proffessor Zoom, Oldschool Captain Atom, DeadMan & a Perez Batman.
how come Superman never smiles any more? He is always scowling and unhappy at best I think that is why most Superman action figures don't ring true to me. It seems it should take a lot to get him as upset as most of his figures are these days, I mean he is an upbeat fella. oh well maybe one day I will find a nice one
It's not a bad Superman...The S looks wrong doesn't look like Kirbys. Funny DC gave Kirby headaches with his rendition of Superman many times the Kirby Superman head was pasted over with another head. Maybe a deluxe version will have that feature then it will be a DC Kirby Superman

The DC Superman First appearance does and it's fantastic!
About the smiley faces, DC Direct usually gets reamed on the message boards when they put out a character with a smile on its face. There was a Silver age Aquaman that took a ton of ridicule and DC Direct even changed the face on its 13 inch Captain Marvel, which was solicited with a smile but came out with a dour sour look on his face. If there is any character that should be made with a smile its Captain Marvel.
But I agree. I'd love a Curt Swan Superman with a Smile on his face or even Perez.
I love that Jim Aparo Batman. He and Neal Adams are The Batman artists for me. I bought the Bolland B/W statue and will probably get Aparo and Adams statues, too, if I can find them for a decent price on ebay.

So Superheroes don't smile anymore? Geez, what a bunch of sourball jerks fandom has become. I got the silver age Superboy and thought it and Supergirl looked great. I guess if it doesn't have at least one butt-cheek showing and boobs out to Nevada then it isn't worth their time.
And it is a bit ironic that after covering up Kirby's Superman faces in the comics, DC wants to make money now off the same face.
Two-faced?
When I am grown to man's estate,
I shall be very proud and great.
And tell the other girls and boys,
not to meddle with my toys.
