I've been a Mego fan since the early 1970's. I enjoyed Planet of the Apes, Star Trek and Super heroes 8" figures as a kid. I've bought the new Star Trek Mego figures and glad to see Mego back but I am not that happy that some quality issues are showing up in the Star Trek figures. The uniform collars on Spock, Chekov and Sulu are not the same quality as the original, and stick up and just don't look right. As I said, I am glad to see Mego's back but I hope they don't end up tarnishing their image by putting out subpar product. I expect better quality than what I am seeing. Also, the 14" Star Trek figures shown at Toy Fair look awful with the STTMP sculpts and TOS uniforms.

Oh, I took a look at my Kirk's, and I see what you mean. I sold my original Mego's and EMCE figures several years ago so I couldn't compare but Kirk does look different than the original . I wish they could have made these figures with the exact same molds and got the uniforms right.Comment

I think we were seeing the results of an unfortunately necessary rush to production here. It's been stated that they had to hustle to get the stuff to market for Target, so I think some aspects of production suffered. I'd look to things like the Cheers head sculpts to see what they're really capable of. I do hope they take the opportunity to fix the Kirk head; I think it's a possibility, as it will likely be re-used many times in the future, justifying the expense of new tooling, methinks.Comment

I hope we get a reissue of the green shirt Kirk and mirror Kirk in the future with corrected heads.Comment
