Killer. The Penguin is dead on but my favorite is the one of Batman & Robin running with the sketch art off the the left.

Awesome art! Too bad more of today's comics don't look this good.

Those are really nifty! Good stuff, from the only monthly title I buy.

Awesome. I've always liked Templeton's stuff. I REALLY need to get my butt to a comic shop!

                    Hey Sam,

Does Ty still pencil on 11x17 comic boards or is the media different when doing art for digital publication?

                    Always curious about the process.

                    - Marty

Hey Marty, next time you are in Toronto, I'll bring you over to my studio... Ty has a wall of process stuff on display in his classroom in the front room.

IIRC, on these particular pages, he's drawing on 8.5" x 11" and compositing them on his computer, based on his small tight layout pages. Partly because 1 digital page = 1 half comic book page, but I believe it also helps with deadline pressures and allows tighter control over the final printed page to be able to adjust and resize each element digitally. I still see 11 x17 covers/pages from him during his run on Ultimate Spider-Man Adventures, but I believe it might depend if the original artwork will sell... so Covers, action scenes and splashes. If it's just Peter Parker or supporting character pages, it's just quicker and easier to assemble them.
(Hopefully i'm detailing the process accurately)

I'm a huge fanboy for his legendary run on the Batman Animated series comic book, and I'm delighted to see him back on Batman. the portrait of Burgess Meredith was one of Ty's samples that got him the Batman '66 gig. I think his art really shines on this title.

Everyone go check out his website...

I also encourage anyone who's in the GTA to take a Bootcamp class if you have any interest in makin' comics. He's an incredibly enthusiastic and inspiring teacher, and really knows his stuff.

A lot of that art is from issue #2. I have all of them except #1. I really like Ty's artwork, b/c it looks so close to the series. Issue #5 of the Sandman story w/ the artists Parker, Jarrell, and Coover looks too cartoon-y to me.

Someone needed to say that a long time ago. If Kane were alive tho he'd probably sue, lol. Great stuff never the less.

^It's ironic that Kane spent all those years building a lie, thinking his legacy would be intact. It ain't.
