    Yeah...that's not real. Is it?

Saw this on eBay and had to submit it to the Mego Museum crew.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Mego-Batman-Prototype-Nightlight-Lamp-Robin-Wonder-Woman-Super-Friends-/170799574419?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c472 ad93

Sounds fishy to me, like the type of stuff I'd see ten years ago or so in Toy Shop. So, to quote Nigel Tufnel, "That's not real, is it?"

Hmmm...might be real. Hard to say. Did the Seller call the phone number, by chance?
Assuming the company is still around.

It's kind of neat and lame all at the same time. considering the era, it seems like a really bad idea though. Considering the bulbs used (pre-LED's) would get hot, I can't see a company taking a shot on something that could easily be seen as a burn hazard. Plus I'd bet that same said bulb would be murder on a figure.

Still it would be interesting to know if Mego did consider it for even one second.

I don't think it's a Mego prototype personally, I think whatever company produced it simply put a Mego Batman in there for the concept.

Had this seen production, I imagine the figure would have been a simplified copy of Mego Batman.

This thing is legit, I know where it came from and a little about it's background.

Well, that answers my question and certainly explains that minty Mego Batman. Thanks, folks.
