^I hope I'm not speaking out of turn here, but since David and Jason haven't been posting as much, I thought I'd relate the abbreviated version.
An unscrupulous business partner royally screwed Cast-A-Way out of their molds, and they have no recourse to get them back. This same person also railroaded several other upstart toy companies/studios. He's a real scum bag.
So unfortunately, the guys can't make those fine, fine figures anymore.
I hope that changes one day. I'd love to see Dave and Jason riding this retro-wave of goodies. They helped pioneer this movement, and it's beyond criminal that they aren't getting to reap the benefits of their hard work.

Well, the guy was the go-between with Chinese factories. Any legal action would probably go nowhere, and would only cost the guys a ton of money.
It's just awful. Karma will one day give that man one serious life wedgie.

Based on my business dealings with China manufacturers in the past, there is no hope of legal recourse without some divine intervention...or a lot of money. Of course the USD is losing it's value against quite a few currencies. Best to use GBP.
Hope the company is still afloat and best in a speedy recovery.Comment

We haven't had much to update guys. We still have about $25,000 worth of debt for molds we no longer own. We won't be making any other parts unless we can pay our debt off. If we spend $1500 on a glove mold it takes a long time to pay for itself. We still have stock and we're still selling that stock on our website. We aren't making any more mego like stuff in the near future. We appreciate everyones support for us thus far, and we're very proud of what we produced, but we can't keep throwing money into something that can't sustain itself. It's not that we don't love making toys and love mego stuff, it just doesn't make sense for us at this time to keep throwing money into this.Comment

I hope the schnook that ripped you off falls off of a cliff! Onto really sharp rocks! Uh...wait. I can't say that. He'd only be polluting the countryside by doing that.
It's not fair to the ecology for him to die that way.
I hope that something really, really bad happens in such a way that he loses everything he owns, winds up on welfare, food stamps and cashing in soda bottles to make extra money.
