    Fitting Boots and Gloves

I really dig Castaway boots and gloves. Great products, though I'm not experienced fitting these to different body types but learning how to do it without damaging anything. I don't want to rip the rubber, and I don't want to break the seams of my suits. I will do alterations to the hands or gloves to make them fit though looking for a few tips from those who've learned the best ways to do it.

Is there certain body types that these won't go on easily (Such as a Type 1 Mego, Type 2, CTVT...ect. ?
I had to alter a Type 1 hand to get the open hand glove to fit, (I straightened the hands fingers with heat). Which works good if anyone else has struggled. Also I had cut along one seam of each glove so they could come on and off easily.

Also can the boots be applied on bodies that have full body suits like a superman suit, or is it best for the sleeves and socks to be trimmed like the teen titan suits are? I was able to slip the chips style boots over a full suit, however the pointed hero boots were not going over the costume without stressing the cloth.

Any tips and tricks are appreciated. thanks

Drop the boots or gloves in some boiling water for about a minute. Now while they are warm and pliable, put them on. Sometimes a very light shot of Pam cooking spray helps. Not to much. I use this for the hero style boots everytime.

Try talc, works very well for GI Joe boots.

I'm very leery of using any oils or organic compounds on collectibles.

If worst comes to worst, simply pop off the hands from the arms and slide the gloves in. Nobody would ever known there are no hands inside...

If you dont want to use oils use a lil bit of dawn or some sort of dish liquid soap.
