I'm more worried about the fullscreen version of Return of the King. Oh well, at least the other two LOTR DVDs are in the proper aspect ratio.

Well, actually, it's my daughter's copy of "The Fellowship of the Ring" that's fullscreen. She bought that one, I bought the others. I rarely buy modern movies unless I can get the widescreen version

Monarch Models made an amazing Max Shreck NOSFERATU Aurora-style kit. The second 'frightening lightning' version is still available. If you've got an Aurora monster yen, I can't recommend it highly enough. Injection-molded, funky colors, all-Aurora, like you'd just stepped back in time to buy it. (Something Polar Lights never quite pulled off)

I'm relieved, I imagined that you were a big enough movie fan to know better.

How much are these retailing for, and where can they be found? I think I may buy a set of Frankie and Drac for the boy for Christmas. It would be a good winter project for us.

I found mine at the K-Mart in Bowling Green, KY. My local K-Mart isn't carrying them, so you may have to try more than one area to find them. The ones I saw retailed for $17.99.

Ouch. I remember when model kits were $2.

Thanks Ramsey. I don't think ANY retail stores in my area are carrying models anymore. Maybe some in Lexington. I'll have to check. There's always Hobbytown and Hobby Lobby.
EDITED TO ADD:
I did stop by a K-Mart in Lexington today and saw one each of Frank and Drac. Had the boy with me, so I'll have to sneak back later.

I enjoyed building my Frankenstein model so much that I went back and picked up a Mummy kit this week. Here's the finished product:

I took a few pics on another shelf away from my DVD collection, but they came out rather lighter for some reason. You can see all of my pics at:
