^Yep, that's it. I LOVE that story. It worked with Waid's "Speed Force" theory later as well. They never emphatically stated they worked together, but in my head, they did.
IIRC, Wells/Thawne mentioned, that at some point in time (202?), the real Dr. Wells creates the particle accelerator, and there is an explosion that creates Flash. But because Thawne is trapped in the past, he takes over Wells' body so he can create the explosion sooner.
Isn't that "Secret Origins Annual" #2? Upon his death in "Crisis" #8, Barry runs so fast back thru time that he becomes the very lightning bolt that causes his accident. Written by Robert Loren Fleming.
Hey Anthony, I knew you or someone would bail me out. Flash has had so many retellings with additions to his origin I forget the order.

OK, I remember that now.
I wouldn't mind them exploring a timeline where the murder of Barry's mom doesn't happen, so Barry and Iris wouldn't essentially grow up as brother and sister who fall in love.
What's significant about that is that Mark Waid was the editor of Secret Origins at the time. I'm trying to remember what the exact wording on Barry Allen's grave was... "All my life's a circle" or something like that?

Mopee...the character that was OFFICIALLY written out of continuity in Flash's original Who's Who entry! But before that, the biggest black mark on the Silver Age of DC.

Just finished watching the season finale and consider my mind COMPLETELY blown.
I'm still processing all the various s**t that hit the proverbial fan, but I can tell you the scene with Barry and his Mom brought a tear to my cynical old eye.
And talk about a cliffhanger! Between this and the season finale over on SUPERNATURAL, the world looks to be in for some serious peril come fall season premiere time!
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.
