    Can someone identify these?

I have been trying to figure out for months what BBP uses to make these little metal-like buttons...they are non-functioning, strictly ornamental...

Does anyone know what they are called? I need to get my hands on some for an upcoming custom ASAP.

Any insights or actual facts (preferred) will be immensely appreciated.

Yes, the intended way to attach hot fix studs (or rhinestones) is to use a standard clothes iron or a one of the soldering iron-type tools that are available for applying them. They can also be applied with "cold" methods such as epoxy, fabric glue or super glue, depending on the surface you are applying them to.

It's funny you posted this--I'd never heard of them until just a few days ago, reading about a Red Sonja custom here.

The best way to attach these is with a modified soldering iron. Wire a small nail onto the tip of the soldering iron and then touch it to the hot fix stud.
