S3 update; Aldo in, Julius pushed to S4. More mentions of tooling costs and line survival pending.
8" Soldier and big bad Lawgiver soon to ship. More Neca surprises teased for NYTF.Comment

So, for Series 3 we'll have Aldo, the CONQUEST Gorilla, and the third one is? Any idea?
I hope the line keeps going, at least to Series 4: A Julius figure is much needed...

Here's video showing the NECA display at Toy Fair:
PS: If anybody has any "still photos" of this new stuff, please post them... It's a lot nicer being able to look at a still shot rather than moving (video) images...Comment

Some intel; support the evolution and buy an Ape!
… perhaps move this thread to the new NECA section too?Comment

^^ You're welcome… some of the questions/wishful thinking in other threads are addressed in Randy's responses via Twitter and in recent interviews. There's some wild speculation that he has directly quelled over the past several months.
I'll re-iterate. What seems evident is that the 8" line is a fan project… meaning that NECA themselves are POTA fans and wanted to use the potential success [sic] of the Classic line to fund the other lines. It's already been stated that the Classic line is the best seller, there will be no Dawn S3, and there will only be more 8" and continuing Classic lines if CS3 has strong sales. The crossroads are coming and that's why there is a fan organized effort to boost sales in early March to push S4 and S5 into production.
It's also been covered elsewhere that the fabric on Taylor was a factory issue/mistake, the source material for the Soldier 2-pack was Beneath and they opted to make more accessories (guns/catchers/etc.) instead of another bando (which is available in S1), and that the upcoming 1/9th Soldier's lack of bando is likely cost savings compromise.
Some strategic decisions to keep the line going, and if the case, it's hard to find much fault in the approach. I can see how a casual Apes fan might feel just in their groaning, but those of us who are long-time Apes collectors know this is all a gift and we're all on borrowed time. Better to enjoy the ride then fret the critique me thinks.Comment
