I brought this Walter White figure last year I ended up selling it after realizing how silly it was he had a plastic method bag prop. To each his own, my love for new toys is now nonexistent but I'd like to think there is enough pie to make everyone happy.

If Toys R Us no longer wishes to be a children's toy store, don't they have the right to decide that for themselves?

I'm not really comfortable with busybodies dictating the choices I can make. It's a very slippery slope... the next thing they could go for are monster toys. Superheroes are inherently violent, as is Star Wars. Heck, the Empire killed two billion people when they blew up Alderaan. Based on body count, Darth Vader is like nine million Walter Whites.

At my store, the "adult collector" figures occupy 1/2 of one side of an aisle. And there is no signage that indicates this aisle is any different than the one before it and the one after it. So it is extremely easy to just stumble upon these figures.

I think if you have a store that has had slogans like "Where a kid can be a kid", and that actively promotes itself as a family friendly business, it is reasonable to take them to task for not living up to those stated values.

TRU never had a slogan that says "Where a kid can be a kid" and if there was, Chuck E. Cheese would be suing their arse off.

And your TRU must be the exception, because mine has the Adult Collector area clearly marked. And if it didn't, the toys themselves ARE.

For a kid to be corrupted by it, they either have to a) already know what the show is or b) be so fascinated by a bad figure of a bad old man that they buy and and research where it comes from.

What troubles me most about this thread is that some here call Walt White an "old man".
              He's 51!

Toys'R'Us should not carry "adult toys". That's what the porn store is for!

If you grow up, you are no longer a Toys'R'Us kid.
That is what the theme song tells us.

                    I disagree.

This "Mom" isn't looking to "get attention"---she's her own 9/11 plane-crasher.

In other words: She thinks her absurd plan is "the right thing" to do.

You don't think like her.. so I assume that's possibly why you can't comprehend she actually believes in what she's doing, and that she uses behavior like this to define her life.

That said: I have empathy for her---but I don't agree with her..

While I find it ridiculous that Breaking Bad is what was singled out when Jason, Freddy, etc. are far more questionable. (Where is the "outrage" about pro wrestler figures with the chairs for smashing over people's heads?)

I agree with the argument for keeping items in age-appropriate sections. But it bothers me far more that you find the Saw merchandise at eye level for a 5-yr-old than that you find these figures with the T-for-Teen video games. In any case, why does this brouhaha lead TRU to eliminate these figures from online sale as well?

The best response to this came from Bryan Cranston: "I'm so mad. I am burning my Florida mom action figure in protest."
Looking for redhead AJ heads (or figures) - both bearded & clean shaven (I'm trying to complete all the variations).
Also seeking: 1 blue Soldier Ape glove, 1 General Ape boot, sun reflector from PotA Fortress playset.

There is no Saw Merchandise, and there certainly isn't any at TRU.

However, if TRU wanted to sell a (hypothetical) figure of the Human Centipede, they should be able to, as long as it is sold in the appropriate part of the store.

Oops. That's embarrassing. I was thinking of the "I'm a Toys R US kid", of course.

But for the record, I wouldn't want to see "Breaking Bad" in a Chuck E Cheese either.

And consumers should have the right to not patronize Toys R Us for that decision.
And to advocate that other consumers avoid them as well.

                              Isn't democracy grand?

I only wish this is what would happen. This is where the story should have ended.
