    I loved reading Spiderman, Superman and Batman as a kid - just kind of gravitated towards Spiderman exclusively as I got older.

    At one time in the early 90's, I had a super nice collection of Golden Age DC comics - both of those comics were in my collection. I had early Detective, Action, All-American, Superman, Batman, Green Lanterns - as well as lots of early Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse (especially the Carl Barks issues).

    Sold them - as well as a near complete run of Amazing Spiderman - to buy a house/car.

      I think the 4 Cover X-men Book Drawn by Jim Lee was Fantastic at the time. I remember when I 1st saw it,.. I nearly Wet Myself. I think it was the 1st Put-to-gether cover I had ever scene. It did rather well as well. I think it Helped the Book to be the Most Produced & The Most Top selling book at the time,.. I remember reading an article about it. It was a Great Achievement,..

      However it sparked the Variant Cover / MultiCover Crap Today. In which is lame,.. because the Better Cover is almost always the Variant, more high Priced one... But the Prices on the Variant Covers have come Down in recent yrs.... I remember at 1st,.. they were like 24.99to14.99 ... & Thats if you could get one before the price went up.., with My comicbook Guy he sells them for 9.99 when they come out... I don't buy many,.. But there has been a few here or there I picked up.

        For me it is Avengers 4 by Jack Kirby.

        Incredible composition, very dynamic in all the right places.

            The single greatest cover is tough, but here are a few of my favorites

            It's my favorite issue of Green Lantern. The first team-up of Allen and Hal without the JLA or JSA and the origin of the Guardians, the setup for Crisis on Infinite Earths 20 years later and a very cool Gil Kane cover.

            This cover from Superman 207 reminds me of Spidey no. 50. I bet these two comics cam out at about the same time. A few years ago at the San Diego Con, I saw a Curt Swan re-creation of the cover in pencils only, which was magnificent. While Swan had some excellent inkers work with him over the years, none (not even Murphy Anderson) did justice to his raw pencils. The dealer wanted $3,000 for the re-creation. It would have been worth every penny.

            Neal Adams and the Man of Steel — Nuff said. Can you use that term when talking about a DC character?

                George Perez ccover in Crisir on Infinite Earths # 7 or 9? The death of Supergirl in Supermans arms tops them all. with all the heroes in the back mourning. ABSOLUTLY STUNNING AND MEMMORABLE

                            The Brian Bolland Killing Joke cover rocks, for that matter any of the Bolland covers on the Animal Man run;

                            I am particularly fond of these as well.

                              One of my favorite covers. I can only dream until the day I add this comic to my Robin collection. One can wish can't they?
                              I owned it back in the 80s.

                              I bought it for $1500...and sold it ten years later for $5000.

                              Based on the condition of what mine was...it's now worth $25,000...easy.

                              I wished I never did.

                              I also owned Superman #2...sold that too...sniff, sniff, sniff.
