I still had a full head of hair, and a head full of dreams back then.

I was born in '71 and I am grateful for it as I remember how much awesome stuff I got to experience during that decade. It is so hard to choose five favorites let alone one.
So many great movies, television shows, cartoons, toys and bands plus the birth of Atari and video games thus providing us with a cornucopia of pop culture porn...
Movies: Star Wars, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, Alien, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Halloween, Alien, Taxi Driver, The Deer Hunter, Jaws, Apocalypse Now, Animal House, Smokey and the Bandit just to name a few.
Television Shows: Battlestar Galactica, The Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman, Starsky and Hutch, The Dukes of Hazzard, Charlie's Angels, SMDM, The Bionic Woman, Saturday Night Live, Happy Days, Three's Company, Sanford and Son are just a few of the shows that instantly come to mind.
Cartoons: Superfriends, Scooby-Doo Where Are You?, School House Rock (I know, not a "real" show but they were cool), Fat Albert, Hong Kong Phooey, Grape Ape to name a few.
Toys: Megos (of course), Star Wars line, ROM the Spaceknight, Starbird, Big Jim, Stretch Armstrong, Rubik's Cube, and the original Atari home console system with wood trim just to name a few.
Bands: KISS, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Queen, Blue Oyster Cult (go go Godzilla woo-hoo), The Sweet, Heart, E.L.O., Foreigner, Styx and fellow Michigander Bob Seger with his Silver Bullet Band are just a few that come to mind in the rock genre alone.
Now as far as food goes...Jack in the Box was still in Michigan in the 70's and they had the best tacos, I could not eat enough of those bad boys
Yes, the 70s was an awesome decade to grow up in, the 80s were cool too running a close second to the 70s.
Thanks Random Axe for starting us down this trip through our childhoods.Comment

I loved going to the movies with my family. I actually remember going to see Star Wars: The New Hope for the first time, and I was only two years old at the time. Riding big wheels with my friends and my other siblings, going on two week long vacation trips every summer, and then going out Friday nights for pizza at SHOWBIZ PIZZA PLACE and seeing the amazing robot band the rock-a-fire explosion play! Good Times.Clothes make the dollComment

Chalk, bottle caps & a residential street... game of skully. That's what I miss most about the 70's.

That and open fire hydrants during the summer.
