What about Italian dressing? When you're in Italy, do you just ask for dressing?
I grew up with a lot of Italians and I love authentic Italian food - and from what I know Italians like salad dressed with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. My guess is that Italian Dressing is really American.
