    Z-Nation

Did any one else check out this new zombie series from the SyFy channel?
First of all it was made by Asylum and 99.9% of anything by them has been god awful-- However I was quite surprised to see how entertaining and a bit campy this turned out to be.
Has a semi serious tone without going over board and it was decent enough. Interested to see how it does down the road. Worth a view-- but again do not expect anything like the walking dead, but rather something focusing more on entertainment than anything else.

I didnt even know it was coming up until I saw them advertise it on wrestling as coming up next on Sy-fi. It was decent, but some over the top stuff and the crew seem pretty careless when dealing with the undead. I read an article from one of the producers that came across as them racing to be first to do stuff with zombies that havent been done before. He said none of the writers are horror writers but more social-satire writers. I imagine it wont be long before I am driven off as a zombie horror fan (one zombie rabbit, or squirrel and I'm out). Asylum' zombie movies have been dreadful. Here is that interview I mentioned....

Not a bad premiss so far.
I'll hang in there for a bit I was surprised to see Tom Everett Scott in the show.

The first episode was free on Vudu so I checked it out. Not bad for what it was, I'm a sucker for zombie stuff and it was kind of brainless but fun. Some of the "acting" made me cringe a bit though. I'll keep watching.

Ha, ha, yeah, I did enjoy this episode better than the first. I did like the zombie mangled in the wheel-well. That was a neat moment. I don't get the stealth zombies (dog, baby), and the sprinters from the shambling zombies. What the heck, it's Asylum, I don't expect consistency. It is entertaining!

Ive seen a lot of refineries in North and South Jersey, and even Philly. Never seen one like that. Was kinda odd seeing it out in the sticks too. I couldnt figure out why they just didnt remove the belt from that rickety wheel contraption thing, but if they did we would not have seen the oil slick zombies. Guess Im along for the ride now. Want to see where they go with this.

Yeah that kind of bugged me a bit or when the hose was stuck just drive off, that truck would have tore the hose off in 2 seconds.then they could have just capped it 5 minutes down the road...lol
Anyway other than that still a fun watch for me.

First off, never seen the movie.

Caught one episode of the series a few days ago.

They were forced to hide in morgue dead body compartments -- meanwhile a Russian guy from the ISS meets up with a geek in a bunker.

All in all, not too bad.

I think i'm going to start watching it regularly

Better than I had imagined - and way more action than Walking Dead

I think there was only one episode that I really didn't care for. Even that one was decent but just not as good as the others (IMHO). I think they are one episode from the end of the season? I like where they are going with Murphy. Yeah, it moves at breakneck speed compared to Walking Dead. Lots of good ideas and entertaining execution.

Ok, thanks to a scifi marathon I seen the entire first series.

I must say, it blows Walking Dead out of the water.

Compared to Z, WD is like watching a pot boil

                            IMO, Z kicks WD's a__

LoL....I actually enjoyed this series a lot.
Hope it returns for a season 2.
There is way more zombie goodness in Ż,WD has better production value and higher calibre actors but for just fun I'm taking Ż.
