Well, I have no idea what it is or why I made it, but I finally finished it!
(and finally photo'd it).
An idea popped into my head quite awhile ago, and I could not rest until I got my lazy butt around to finish it. It's not super fancy or complicated, or even that well-done, but it kinda just told me it wanted to be cheesy silly and that's all.
errr, now what is it? I really do not know. It's and 1980's 12 inch Spectra Tom Comet body, whose head I promptly chopped off, put a rewired 90's Barbie TV with a new mediocre drawn monster face, and added pretty tunic (paint shaded), tail, and foam ears..... now a Video Satyr? with no hooves? I guess. He made me do it.
I really don't like the monster face I drew, so it's temporary. I'm rusty and that fine permanent marker wasn't fine enough, so I'll try again later. And for a simple looking figure, it was actually a bit of work. I have the how-to's in the pic links.
I didn't mention how really top heavy he is though, with the batteries and giant TV. So he does topple over and sink out of his poses alot, but the Spectra bodies are excellent for a wide variety of poses. They're actually really great bodies. I'd love to get some ladies and make more, but I don't have any other light up appliances yet.
Oh, and those silver pointy blobs in the pics are Silicon by-products from a computer wafer processing plant that used to be around here. They're oddly called 'Crystal Boules'. I've been collecting them from thrift stores and garage sales since the 80's!!
Pose'in.
Strollin'.
Side horns.
He actually looks kinda cool with the light off too. You're like 'oh, a blank TV screen', then you look closer and it's like 'AHHHH face!'.
Here's normal light and pose that shows him the most like he is.
Here's some of the monster faces I tried. Alot are too scary and didn't match the cheesy nature. I usually make things too cartoony, not scary! Other ones were too wide and I found there needed to be space in the screen.
