KJR-FM Seattle's Bob Rivers Is Retiring

At 7:40AM PDT, KJR 95.7FM's morning host, Bob Rivers announced his retirement on air. His last show will be August 8, 25 years to the day after his first show on Seattle's 99.9FM KISW. Best wishes go out to Bob in his future endeavors. End of an era in Seattle radio.

Yep. Best known for 'Twisted Tunes'. He and his co-host Spike O'Neil are also part of the band Spike & the Impailers, a well known local classic rock cover band. Bob is also known for his work with various charities.

Heard the announcement this morning on the bus on the way in to work. Disappointing. He was the best thing on Seattle radio. I don't care for all of his crew but I hope some of them continue on in with their won show.

Spike O'Neil and Downtown Joe Bryant are also hanging up their headphones on Friday. Read that Clear Channel has purchased the domain name for Jet 95.7 Seattle. Guessing that a possible format change might be happening at 10AM on Friday.
