First look at the Thing from FF reboot...

As I anticipated, he looks terrible. Michael Chiklis looked waaay better.

I'll need to see more before I make a final decision, but Chiklis' portrayal will be hard to beat. It sounds like the plot for the movie is going to suck either way. I still wish someone else would have played the role of Captain America. Chris Evans did such a good job as Torch that it has been hard to like him as Cap. I haven't seen Winter Soldier yet though.

It's the mo-cap of the actor's face. The actor/agent wants to be recognizable in the part so they're identified with the role. It's why every hero fights half the film without a mask, while geared up. Bana was adamant his face was to also be the Hulk, where Norton understood it had to be different. Ruffalo had no say since he was Norton's replacement, so he knows for A2 they can't change the Avengers-Hulk look. That's why he always talks about more Banner time when asked about a new Hulk film.

I would have to guess with Nu FF, Fox wants something they can claim royalties over like the X movies. I'm guessing it's why we've read about no straight-up costumes. When you think about, it explains why X-Force was canceled and New Mutants stalled. FF has become New Mutants.

Actually this one looks pretty good from what little we see. Never thought the Chiklis version seemed right as a translation of the character.

I think it looks pretty good. I see eyebrows. Also, I was one of those who thought the Chiklis one was just OK.
