Thanks for the reply, but I was referring to the Plastic zip tie (not sure what it's called) that holds the clamshell together. Sorry, should have been more clear.

A couple of posters here said there was a way to remove it, but for the life of me I couldn't do it when following their instructions.

The tie that holds the clamshell together has a tiny little piece inside that sticks into the groves of the tie. If you put a very small flat screwdriver in you can make that tiny little piece lift out of one of the grooves and slide the tie apart and open the clamshell and then after you do your work put it back.

You could also email FTC and ask for a new tie, they are pretty generous about sending them out.

I've managed to do it with a small screwdriver/ you have to press in fairly deep but once you do, they come right out .

May have to try the email thing , I've saved my ties for the series 3, batman 66, and titans , but had cut them for series 1 and 2 .

Anybody think there's a chance they'd send me 8 ties? (What's the email anyway ?)
