    Star Trek Big Wheels

I've been looking for this catalog for ages, in 1978 Worcester toy corporation, mostly known for tea sets offered a series of Star Trek inspired Big Wheels (sadly there appears to be no Star Trek tea set).

While I can find no evidence of the Trek cycle being made, Worcestor did produce them as generic space ships. What might have been....

    That's very cool!
I don't know how long the electronic components would have lasted, though.
I used to ride my Big Wheel hard.

I seem to recall a Knight Rider Big Wheel knockoff that looked a bit like that Trek one.

My friend would be all over the Trek one if it was ever made.

Wouldn't they have to have made them? Why pay for the license and not use it? I bet there's at least a handful out there somewhere.

I'm always amused by these kind of things...

Somewhere, some adult in charge said, "Kids, they love that Star Trekking thing right? Make a Big Wheel out of it!"

"But Sir, Star Trek is a TV show set in space, should we make the Big Wheel look like the ship?"

"What? No! Put some stickers on a stock wheel. They'll be so hopped up on cake and ice cream, they won't know the difference!"

The junior Star Trek version has "added emphasis on safety for pre-school astronauts." And what would that be exactly? It doesn't appear to be any different than the others. LOL!!

It's super commonplace to cut your losses if you don't get the orders. My own company has done it with three licenses. Especially if the movie/show bombs.

Worcester released this as a generic space cycle later that year, so it did get made and I guess an inventive person could put the trek decals on it.

Totally! I was thinking the same thing.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I have the smaller version of the Trek big wheel. It has the view screen handle bars of the larger version but nothing else in common but the Trek stickers.
