    Different versions of Riddler's suit.

I have a Riddler with an elastic belt and the main question mark is blunt instead of rounded. At first I thought it was a repro suit, but now I think there were two versions of the suit released. Can anyone confirm this? The gallery also shows the two different suits but doesn't mention any differences or variations.

I found this one on eBay:

I have different shades of green - I am thinking that the one with the elastic belt in the photo is a prototype - I would think the elastic belt thing is a touchy subject since open to easy reproductions. I will take a picture later of the ones that I have.

Interesting to see the variations of green and the different printings of the question marks - this guy was manufactured for a long time

Wow! I have the three in your pic, but I believe I don't have the other two in Skids. I thought my third one was the result of wear and age, plus the hem is out on the neck due to stretching. After looking at your pic I guess that's not the case. So it looks like the blunt question mark was the first release because the gallery also has the blunt version on a first issue Kresge and yours and Skids both have them with your elastic belts. I also realize the belt can be fabricated, but mine came from a lot of all T1 beat up Batman heroes and villans complete with a Batmobile. Still, it is possible. I got the whole thing for under $100 and the belt was mixed in with misc "Bat" parts. Riddler himself had to be restrung. :( At the time I didn't know how to do it so I regretted buying it all (I thought I'd paid too much even with an 85% complete Batgirl and Catwoman).

Just curious...what's to stop anyone from dying a AJ belt purple and make it a elastic belt for the Riddler? I've had a purple elastic belt for about 5 or 6 years that I got in a trade and always assumed it was a dyed AJ Belt. What are the tell tale signs that a purple elastic belt is original to the Riddler? Is there a way to tell if it has been faked?

BTW, I am not saying that the ones pictured in this thread are fake...I'm just curious about how you can tell that it's real or not.

Restringing Type 1s is easy. There's even a how-to here at the Museum. Here:http://megomuseum.com/custom/restringing.shtml

Nothing, that's why josephcardone said it was a touchy subject. Mine may not be the real deal. I'm just assuming it is because of the shape it was in. The buckle was so tarnished it now looks silver after I cleaned it. The belt is badly stretched out and it was so filthy and stained that I soaked it in oxy 10 for two days and it lightened the color a bit. Still, it could be a dye job. Unless it was sealed on a Kresge card I imagine it would be scrutinized by most. At least now I'm slightly more confidant that it's the real deal because of the suit having a blunt question mark which I'm now fairly certain is the first suit released with the Riddler. If an example is found packaged I'm betting it will be on a suit with a blunt question mark.

I wondered, my FF suit is like that but I transferred it to a T2 figure. I guess it would make sense that they'd both be from probably the same production run.

My understanding is that the TRU red-card Riddler has a deeper-green suit, much like the corresponding Green Arrow? May Dumbledor can enlighten us...

i was thinking the figure i have on the far right was the close out red card Riddler. all the carded ones look to have the same off color suit with bleeding at the belt. just noticed but his hands are a different color too. would love to hear from someone who has one..
