The Action Figure Hall of Fame

I'm honoured to on the staff (you should see the lunch room!) of this fun new project The Action Figure Hall of Fame.

Visitors are encouraged to vote for their personal favourites from a large list and this year's inductees will announced this October.

It's a really fun project and unlike other Hall of Fames, we'll be able to insure that all inductees attend our awards ceremony, in full make up.

Vote Now for the greatest action figure of all time.

I love the idea and think it is great that this is happening!

A couple of thoughts I had going through the process and looking at the website:

        1. Ten inductees every year seem high to me, given the size of the candidate pool up for vote.

        2. If 10 are getting in, ideally voters should have 10 votes. A consensus 2nd choice seems way more deserving of a spot than a figure that has enough of a partisan following to get some #1 votes, but that no other voters think belongs in the hall.

        3. I know you can always nitpick the selections, but the absence of Barbie seems wrong. Or is she not considered an action figure?

        4. Have you thought about a physical exhibit somewhere? I believe the Museum of Play in Rochester houses the Toy Hall of Fame... maybe could do something similar?

Had to go with the original GI Joe. It is his birthday after all. Plus he just lost his "dad" not that long ago.
