I'm just paying it forward...I've tried to capture the process along the past year with the hopes I've sparked someone's creativity.
The 3d scanning and 3d printing - it's not for everyone, but the day will come where everyone has a printer...it is inevitable. They're only going to get more user friendly and cost effective.
I've been here 12yrs and it took me a good long while to start making stuff.
I credit James Brady for his casting tutorials...
Dave McCormick for his painting tutorials...
Dave Lee, Boss, Megospidey, megowgsh - just a few names of folks whose creativity sparks my own.
I have the added benefit of a factory background.
Grandpa was a welder, and got me my first job after high school.
I assembled stuff, learned about tools, industrial-stuff. I learned to do automotive paints around that time and just grew.
This shark - it has been the experience of my past 24yrs that made it what it is today...reality.
I'm really glad to have been able to do this for the group.
Mego Meet should have some interesting conversations and I look forward to future shark projects.Last edited by noelani72; Jun 1, '14, 1:16 PM.Comment

#1 It (along with box) is in perfect condition.
#2 I could afford it.
#3 bigger prop
#4 no battery door
#5 no lead based paint (I can tell because I had Lillian lick it and she doesn't appear to have gotten brain damage)
#6 Cause you said so.
There I named all sixComment
-
1. no screw holes
2. no jaw hinge hole
3. pupils/eyeballs not sculpted
4. re-sculpted teeth
5. no seem line
6. prop and rear fins are one piece (ingenious work around there by-the-way)
Am I way off?

Thanks on #6 - it was one of those things born out of necessity. I needed it to be a certain way for either molding or printing - Plan A was to mold it, and well, it never happened....printing everything still but someday I would like to make my molds.
Also, since I designed the tail section as one piece, there's not the little raised bar on the body and battery housing to indicate ON/OFF.Comment

At the shipping company I'm using, a boxed shark, in the shipping box with packing supplies weighed in at 3.4lbs. I can prolly guarantee 2/3rds of that WASN'T the shark...he's pretty light.Comment

Excellent! The pupils are there, just a bit softer. Sean digitally sculpted the socket a bit to bring it back but it could stand another go at it someday.
