    Star Trek shirt discolouring

A friend has some Star Trek figures and the blue shirts are getting discoloured. He's asked me to post - does anyone know any tricks to fix it?

I don't know why the blue shirts do this??? I have tried everything and nothing seems to remove it - it seems to be a permanent stain - I think anyway!!

I don't happen to own any, so I'm really not sure. My first guess is that the pigment is just fading because of the cheap materials used, or that the plastics in the synthetic fabric is changing colour the way a lot of old plastics do over time, but I really have no clue.

My friend says he hears that Oxy Clean will help - anybody try this?

Oxy clean is great but does not work on this. At one point - I had a blue shirt that was in poor condition anyway so I tried a bit of bleach heavily diluted in water - that did not work either. This is a tough one

About the only thing I can think of is a Doc replacement shirt and a die cut foil emblem some nice person around here sells.

I mentioned replacing it too - but he says he likes the original colour better.

I've got a yellow vintage shirt that got discolored black along the bottom - probably due to dye migration from the pants or accessory belt.

Is it strange that I'm highly impressed by the term "dye migration"?
