Vacuform Vulcan Shuttle fact or fiction?

Thread title says it all. I am just curious as no known examples are out there, what does everyone think of this little legend? Myth? Fact? I am curious. I am skeptical it was released though. Personally it seems odd that no examples have been found. Is it possible rumors come from factory workers taking prototypes home to their kids, then the kids friend sees them and remembers it years later thinking it was an official release?

I know one member was adamant he saw it as a kid in a pharmacy. I must admit, I swore I saw it too as a kid but now after 25 plus years of searching, I'm not so sure.

The possibility existed that Grand Toys ordered some and while Mego didn't make it for the US market, Grand paid in advance so Canada got some. It happened but now a days i'm wondering if I didn't see the smaller model Mego made of it.

The gallery on the site shows "one of the few photos" of the shuttle. I have only seen this single photo. Are any others out there to see anywhere?
