tricks for restoring discolored trek phaser?

Does anyone here know a good way of restoring discolored phasers to their original color? or is it a lost cause? thanks.

I have never tried it, but I wonder if the plasti-dip method used for de-graying heads would work on these. Again,I have not tried it,but it is just a thought.
    Looking for:

--Lion Rock "Mr Rock's" shoes/ boots (these may also be the same as the lion rock monster line boots)

    --Mystery Astronaught

someone suggested dyeing it, that soaking it in a small cup of color for a couple days would get the best result. said that sun had bleached it on the one side. i don't usually mess with cleaning up old figures, so this is all new to me as well.

You can try putting it in a clear zip loc with hydrogen peroxide (make sure it is a decent quality zip loc so it does not leak - maybe put a tray underneath) and put it in the sun for a day. I have done this in the past and it works well.

josephcardone, thank you for the suggestion. placed the phaser in a ziplock bag, submerged in regular over the counter hydrogen peroxide, & taped it to a window, brown side facing the sun. I left it suspended there for 5 days. I'm very happy with the result.
