Vintage Toy Store Photos Volume 15

Seeing as it's the site's birthday, it's no better time to drop a new installment in what is one of my favorites, vintage toy store photos. A journey back to the days of oddly named department stores and independent mall toy stores and chains that are fondly remembered but sadly mostly gone.

Vintage Toy Store Photos Volume 15 gets all Bionic up in here with some smashing shots of Kenner Six Million Dollar man and Bionic Woman displays, joining them will be Godzilla, The Sunshine Family, Barbie and the Lone Ranger. All in the late 1970s/early 1980s glory.

Check out Vintage Toy Stores Volume 15 here

And if you haven't already, Volumes 1-14 are a pile of happiness, click the image for the full gallery.

There is a lot of SMDM love in those shots.

Wow! Those are great. That Barbie display is very cool.

BTW: Have you ever come across vintage store pics of Strawberry Shortcake displays? I'd love to see those again.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Man, those are sweet. Legend of the Lone Ranger has it's flaws (mostly, the title actor) but I'd take it any day over last year's film. And those toys WERE very nice. Loved the packaging.

So much awesomeness in one post I can hardly stand it!! I would pay some serious money for those cardboard cut-outs of the SMDM/BW box art in the first pic. (It looks like the negative was reversed on that pic, by the way.)

These pictures make me want to cry. I miss 1970's and 80's toy stores. Seeing all the people lined up and enthusiastic about buying toys is something. Now, the only places to find 'toys' (and not through the internet) are TRU, Walmart, Target, and Kmart- and a sad selection of toys at that.
I am more than machine. More than man. More than a fusion of the two.
