So excited!!! Finally we are going to get some new Marvel Mego's!!! I am OK with the price because we will get basically 3 figures for $80. I both like and hate the low number of figures they will make. Like it because it may be a bit easier on the budget. Hate because some of our favorite characters will probably never get made. But hey, give me Spidey, Cap and the FF and I will be pretty happy!Comment

If sales are strong, that will certainly give us confidence in planning the line, but we don't want to strain anyone's wallet, or EMCE's sanity. As it is, they're technically going to be developing 12 figures per year for Marvel alone. Six sets would be 18 figures!Comment

I really wouldn't put it past Disney to release Star Wars as ReMego. I also could see them releasing Disney characters using the child size figures.Visit my wiki site:

My thought on the $80.00 is...
If all I want is Circle Suit Spidey, I get 2 more Doc Mego bodies, and put Peter Parker and the modern Spider-Man on Ebay. I'm sure there will be lots of loose stuff available, the longer they are out there.Comment

The $80 price tag stopped my heart at first too, but the more I looked around at DC Direct's 13 inch line and Sideshow's 12 inch Star Wars, I realized that
the price wasn't a deal breaker, just a little harder.
Sorry I haven't been around here much lately, but I couldn't post much knowing what I knew. The urge to spill the beans was too strong.Comment

Never say never. But, from what I understand, Hasbro has the action figure license locked down pretty tight. Besides I'm not sure SW works best in the Mego style because too many characters have to have unique body molds. You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...Comment

I understand the nostalgia-based excitement for retro, 8" Marvel figures, but for $80, I would have much preferred a 4-figure set or something instead of one retro-figure that doesn't fill my heart with as much joy as the original anyway and sells like Captain Action with a bunch of spare pieces and costumes. I mean, Parker looks dead on accurate to the comic, but doesn't feel Mego to me - and that other Spider-Man has no appeal to me. It reminds me of the one Hasbro released in that Mego-like series back around 2005, except more awkward and unnecessary. I really enjoyed Mattel's Retro-Action Series and am even interested in some of Figure Toy Company's releases - despite some disappointing choices in production - but this DST idea seems almost desperate, and it won't even really round anything out. I'd rather wait for another way and not sink ~$700 into a terminal, 8-figure collection.Comment
