Love it - it's like what the various chimp High Councilors and regional Prefects in the TV series wore.

You could add tall boots and could put little metal fish ornaments on it to make a custom of the corrupt chimp who ran the fishing villiage (forgot his name - played by Roscoe Lee Brown though - great character)

Judson's, I'm not trying to seem the know it all here, but that outfit looks NOTHING like what the Prefects or High Coucilor chimps wore.

The Prefects wore a simple collar that went over their leather collars (which were attached to their regular tunics). And most Prefect collars had the chimp hieroglyphic in the middle. As far as the High Councilors, they usually just showed them in standard chimp regalia. No long coats involved anywhere.

Hurton was the Prefect of the fishing village. He'd need one of those collars to be correct though. Again, not a long coat...

You're right of course, and I should have said it's what they *could* have looked like if the show'd had the budget to do more with than just put a flap over the front of the existing chimp suits and gave them boots and the occasional eye-patch

Obviously it's a chimpified version of the Orangatan city suits (as opposed to the sportier Forbidden Zone/archeology suits with the boots and stripe down the sleeves).

But I think it shows imagination and could very well be something you'd see an older, higher-up chimp wear in the society portrayed in the TV show, since you never really saw well-placed chimps in the movies, just those lowly scientist types.

Not to bag on scientists or anything.

    Agreed. I'd totally wear it

Actually, it would be cool if someone made, say, a line of long-sleeved t-shirts that were silkscreened to look like the chimp shirts (I think Jessica made a much nicer version I saw on her blog if I recall), with the patches on the sleeves and such, or gorilla tops with the ammo belts.

It would make it easier for others to spot us apeheads in a crowd. You know, as if the big ol' Lawgiver statue out on the front porch wasn't a dead giveaway.
