Sewn on sleeves

General question regarding sewn on sleeves as opposed to solid pieces. In going through my random collection of outfits I have 2 Capt. Marvel/Shazam suits. One has the swen on sleeves and SEEMS to fit better on a T1 body. They other is regular and fits OK on either style. Would anyone mind schooling me a bit on the differences? Apologies if this has been asked and answered before. I did a quick seach but nothing relevent came up.
